Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The Senior Bookkeeper will manage complex bookkeeping tasks, support month-end and year-end close processes, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organization, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Identify process improvements and implement best practices in bookkeeping and accounting
Mentor and review work of junior bookkeeping or accounting staff (if applicable)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software
Advanced Excel skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
